Abstract

Pressure vessel is a container for a fluid, either liquid or gas fluid is pressurized. In designing a pressure vessel there are some things that must be considered, namely the voltages appearing on the vessel walls due to the pressure generated due to the fluid that is in the vessel, the weight of the vessel itself, nor the pressures arising from external factors. The process of manufacture of pressure vessels is performed by using a rolling process and assembly welding process. The welding process used to be considered based on the level of density, leakage and at the same strength. Planning the welding procedure to be carried out on pressure vessels and pressure vessels process of welding the first conducted Shell Welding, Shell - Head, Nozzle, Reinforcement Pad, Neck - Flange, Skirt Support. Material pressure vessel welding to be performed by ASME section II, such us: SA 516 Gr 70 for Shell, SA 516 Gr 70 for Head, SA 106Gr B for Nozzle, SA 516 Gr 70 for Reinforcement pad, SA 105 for Flange, and SA 36 for Skirt Support. The welding processĀ  used GTAW and SMAW, and for the selection of electrode based on the chemical composition & mechanical properties of base metal, Based on the planning of the welding connection consisting of five welding procedures are determined and summarized into one WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) based on the ASME Section IX.
