STUDI KOROSI BESI COR KELABU DILINGKUNGAN TEMPERATUR TINGGI YANG MENGANDUNG H2SO4 DAN NaCl
Abstract
Cast iron is a eutectic alloy of iron and carbon. Cast iron used in this study is a gray cast iron because it has good strength. One of the factors that can accelerate the corrosion rate is high temperature due to the high tempertaur kinetics of chemical reactions will be increased so that it will accelerate the corrosion rate. Tests conducted on the variant wherein 5-8 hours prior to testing the test object to be heated for 30 minutes at a temperature of 200oC. At this temperature the test object to be coated with a solution of NaCl and H2SO4 50:50 comparisons which will be diluted with water as much as 400ml. After the coating, the high temperature test that uses the temperature of + 700 ° C can be done. The results of tests carried out in the 5 hours obtained lose weight of 0,0085 mm / year .When 6 hours obtained lose weight of
0,0048 mm / year , for a time 7 hours obtained lose weight of 0,0189 mm / year and for a time
8 hours obtained lose weight highly significant a month 0,0257 mm / year. The existence of
NaCl and H2SO4 deposits in the lining of gray cast iron greatly affects the rate of oxidation.
