Abstract

Composite materials have been developed in a variety of applications, by utilizing waste (biowaste) is processed into a cow bone hydroxyapatite powder with a mixture of borax and silica powder, with variations in the composition that is 70:30, 60:40, 80:20, performed to obtain the value of the mechanical properties better including hardness and compressive strength. Biocomposite material of hydroxyapatite, borax and silica Shore hardness values obtained on specimens biocomposite best Scleroscope with variations in the composition of 70:30 at 18.33 SHN value, and the value of the highest voltage on the specimen with composition variation of 80:20 with a deflection value of 6.3 N / mm2. From the test results above shows variations in the composition that is obtained borosilicate hydroxyapatite and good mechanical properties and an alternative to a bone implant efficient.
