Abstract

ABSTRACT

Ethanol must contains less than 0.7% water for transportation fuels. In the final step for producing ethanol for tranportation fuel, zeolite are used as the adsorbent. The zeolite molecular sieves that are most commonly used include types X.This work aims to produce a molecular sieve exstruded made of zeolitic type-X by re-creating the conditions of synthesis. The results from the characterization procedures showed that the product suitable for the separation of an ethanol-water mixture.
