Abstract

ABSTRACT

The production of bioethanol requires biomass feedstocks that contain carbohydrates such as glucose, starch, cellulose and lignocellulose. One example source lignocellulosic feedstock for bioethanol are the dregs of dahlia tubers. During this time dahlia tuber starch is used as flour for food and raw materials for inulin while the dregs which amounted to about 25% by weight untapped. In this study, the method is performed enzymatic hydrolysis using cellulase enzymes and fermented with yeast saccharomyses cerevisiae. The results showed that the levels of ethanol produced higher up time certain fermentation (optimum time) and after time elapsed optimum levels of ethanol produced decreases. The highest levels of bioethanol produced by 0.743% on the addition of the enzyme as much as 9 ml.
