Abstract

ABSTRAK

Sago dregs (Metroxylon sp) is the waste generated from the processing sago, rich in carbohydrates and other organic materials. Sago pulp waste can be converted into products that have economic value that is bioethanol. Bioethanol is ethanol derived from sugar fermentation process of carbohydrate materials using microorganisms. One of the important stages in the manufacture of bioethanol is hydrolysis. hydrolysis is divided into two kinds: enzymatic hydrolysis and chemical hydrolysis (acidic) hydrolysis of starch The results subsequently fermented with the help of microorganisms. Yeast microorganism used tape and fermipan. Starch contained in corn residue is converted into glucose, fermented into ethanol. These results indicate that the thermal processes are of the highest ethanol content in the pulp concentration of 11%,7% yeast namely and fermipan 4% that is2,75%%.

Keywords: Sago dregs, Bioethanol, Hydrolysis, Yeast, Fermipan.
