Abstract

The water turbine is a machine that produces mechanical energy in the form of a round shaft by utilizing the potential energy of water. This energy is then converted into other forms of energy such as electricity. In the design of the turbine, the type and dimensions depend on the condition of head and available capacity. So in order to obtain optimum efficiency, the water turbine that operates at a particular location will have a specific design (type and dimensions) are different in each location. Early studies of planning the parts micro power plants in terms of basic design work include: weir, channel carrier, rapid pipes, turbines.
