Abstract

In the Industrial world still much contruction material by using a convensional lathe, and convensional lathe operator as a important factor of success of a job. Operator in demand to know all the aspects related to convensional lathe,  because it would be related to the surface roughness of the workpiece.Surface roughness is very important in a product quality machining. One parameter that affects the surface roughness can be seen from the influence the depth of cut and rotation lathe. In the analysis of the surface roughness of the workpiece used is steel SS400 and using a chisel type of HSS (High speed Stell) are often used in engineering workshop in the field of PT. Cement Padang.
