Abstrak

Abstract
In the present time, a lot of drugs are often misused, one of them is Misoprostol which serves to treat
ventriculatory ulcers; but this drug has side effect that can cause uterine contractions. Thus, it was
widely used for the following health indications: termination of pregnancy, postpartum hemorrhage,
and delivery. Doctor as people who know the function and side effects of Misoprostol have moral and
ethical responsibilities in the misuse of it that can be used for abortion. This is in accordance with
Article 7 D of the Indonesian Medical Code of Ethics which says; a doctor must always remember the
human creatures of beings.
Objective: To find out the doctor’s ethics and moral responsibility in giving Misoprostol for
Provocatus abortion in terms of Article 7 D of Indonesian Medical Code of Ethics
Research method: Non-doctrinal social studies
Result: Until today, Misoprostol is still given by health workers including doctor and still used to
perform abortion.
