ABSTRAK
This study discusses parenting parenting in the development of personality and student achievement in
school. Parenting is a way that parents use in educating their children who are considered to best suit
their ideals in delivering their children to be a useful child for the family. The purpose of this study will
answer two questions, namely how the relationship parenting parenting with the development of student
personality and how the relationship parenting parenting with student achievement in school. The success
of learning achievement is not only determined by education in the school environment, but it requires
good cooperation between family education, school and community education. Among these three
educations, the family is the first and foremost educator. Based on research that is very influential
parenting patterns to the personality of students is the pattern of authoritarian and permissive parenting.
Learning achievement is an assessment of learning activity results expressed in the form of symbols,
numbers, letters, which can reflect the results achieved by each student within a certain period. Parenting
patterns that affect student achievement in school is authoritarian parenting is the interaction between
parents and children more emphasis on coercion .. The conclusion of this study is student achievement
can be determined from parental parenting and personality development of thechild.
