Kerinci District is one of regions located at 1ᵒ40’-2ᵒ26’ South Latitude and 101ᵒ08‘-
101ᵒ50’East Longitude. Making the area as oxygen and water sources provider for other areas.
based on Kerinci countermeasures regional disaster agency
a.k.aBadanPenanggulanganBencana Daerah(BPBD)Kerinci known that flood is a frequent
disaster. considering of flood disaster intensity proves that disaster has a high frequency
occurrence. In order of that. It is important to do a research on human resources BPBD in
order to deal with flood disaster.The purposes and objectives of doing the human research is to
evaluate human resources performance in BPBD Kerinci on dealing with flood disaster as a
consideration in policy making of decreasing flood frequency in a region; there are the quality
and availability of human resources in BPBD Kerinci, and the employee competences. Thus, the
research could be a suggestion in evaluation for local governments in order to improve the
management of flood disaster policies on increasing BPBD Kerinci employee competences to
effectively reduce the loss, emerged in the society. The research, Investigation on Human
Resources in Dealing with Flood Disaster in Kerinci District, constrained in a high-risk district.
