KOMPROMI RUANG PASCA PELEBARAN PEDESTRIAN STUDI KASUS : KORIDOR PERMINDO

Abstrak

Permindo area is one of the existing road corridor in Padang City with length 354,38 m which
borders Pasar Raya area. Permindo area is a commercial area, where the area is famous in Padang
City. Such as shopping centers, snacks, services, and so forth. In addition the area is also supported
by the existence of 2 (two) hotels namely Rocky Hotel Plaza, Hotel Garuda and 1 (one) Permindo
Lodging. After the physical activity of widening pedestrian in Permindo corridor there are still some
problems related to the use of public space in the corridor. Spatial compromises such as onstreet
parking on mobile lanes, street vendors appearing on the road from late into the evening become an
old unresolved problem in this corridor. The problems that exist in this permindo area is the
congestion caused by irregular parking systems and street vendors who often use sidewalks and road
bodies to sell, thus disrupting pedestrians and passing vehicles.
Research Methods used in this discussion is descriptive method by describing and explaining the data
and then analyzed to obtain a conclusion. This study aims to determine the characteristics of postwidening
area pedestrian, the factors that affect the compromise of space in the post-widening area
pedestrian.
