PERSEPSI DAN PREFERENSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP UPAYA PELESTARIAN DI KAWASAN PASA GADANG PADANG

Abstrak

Padang city as an old city that has quite a lot of buildings and old historic areas, even in some
locations of the existence of the building is accumulated so as to form a historical landscape
(Historical Heritage) one of them is Padang Gadang Area. But with the development of the city
today especially after the earthquake of September 30, 2009 existing buildings have undergone
many changes and destruction of both the function and the form of the building even almost
experienced extinction that brings a bad impact on the building and also the decline in
architectural values that can threatening the historical values of urban heritage. In addition there
is no appropriate action in the framework of preservation of buildings and lack of community
participation. Avoiding the possibility of increasing the number of buildings destroyed or damaged
and then extinct, it is necessary to do an appropriate conservation action for buildings and Pasa
Gadang area one of them by knowing how people's perceptions and preferences on the
preservation of old and historic buildings. To conduct the study is done by descriptive analysis
method through Appporoach Contigency approach. The results of this study are to see how far the
community has changed the building, and how the community wants to preserve the old and
historic buildings in Pasa Gadang area.
