STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS DIATOM EPIFITIK (Bacillariophyceae) PADA BATANG DAN PNEUMATOPHORE BAKAU Sonneratia alba DI KAWASAN MANGROVE BUNGUS TELUK KABUNG SUMATERA BARAT

Abstrak

This research was conducted from August - November 2017 in mangrove area Bungus Teluk Kabung
West Sumatera. The purpose of this study was to determine species composition and abundance f
epiphytic diatom presenting on the trunk and Pneumatophores of sonneratia alba in Bungus Teluk
Kabung mangrove area, West Sumatera which is related to water quality factor. Survey method was
applied on this research where data were obtained by direct observation in the field. The samples of
epiphytic diatom were analyzed in the Laboratory of Bioprocess Technology Faculty of Technique. Water
quality parameters were measured in situ. Six genus of epiphytic diatom found 3 Centrales and 4 Penales.
The abundance of epiphytic diatom on the trunk ranged from 3314 to 4461 ind/cm2 while on the
Pneumatophores is from 2860-4232 ind/cm2. Beside that, water quality parameters were in
the sufficient range for marine epilithyc diatom.
