Abstrak

Bungus Ocean Fishing Port (PPS Bungus) is a class A fishing port that has the advantage of being located near the departure of fishing vessels. Mentawai Island which borders the Indian Ocean and is located in the waters of West Sumatra holds the potential of Tuna, Tongkol and Cakalang (TTC) fisheries. The government's efforts, especially PPS Bungus to improve the living standards of West Sumatra fishermen and to realize the vision and mission of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, namely to increase fisheries production in Indonesia. Strategies in an effort to improve the management of PPS Bungus to increase capture fisheries production through SWOT analysis. The SWOT analysis was used to find out the right strategy in improving the management of PPS Bungus for increasing the number of capture fisheries production. The existence of a fishing port must provide a multiplier effect across sectors, across regions and across actors for the development of industries related to both upstream and downstream industries so that their existence will be able to encourage the growth of the fisheries industry which is beneficial for increasing foreign exchange.
