Abstrak

The construction of schools in Indonesia and also in West Sumatra applies a standard building system on shapes and sizes and materials, issued by the Indonesian Ministry of National Education so that it becomes a reference for each region that will build buildings that support educational activities. This study was conducted to illustrate how much energy is contained in standard buildings in schools, especially the junior high school laboratories that have typical shapes, quantities and materials. This study uses the energy analysis methodology of the building design design, material specifications and quantity of building materials. The area of the junior high school science building is 150 m2, from the results of the analysis it was found that the amount of energy contained was 5.655 GJ/M2
