The use of a Floating Bag Catching Tool for catching select fish that was initially able to improve the economy of fishermen who are in the circle of Lake Singkarak, but with the many floating operational charts has caused a decline in population and threatened the extinction of Bilih fish (Mystacoleucus padangensis Bleeker). This happens because Bagan uses fishing gear that is not in accordance with the provisions that are allowed, where many of the charts use fishing gear with very tight net material (uk. <5/8 inc), resulting in small sized pickle fish as large as rinuak (2 -3 cm) will be netted by this net. In addition, the use of charts has caused overfishing. The purpose of this study is to learn about how effective the prohibition of the use of charts to prevent population decline and the extinction of the Bilih fish (Mystacoleucus padangensis Bleeker) in the waters of Lake Singkarak.
