The rise of the use of Bagan Floating fishing gear in the waters of Lake Singkarak is one of the causes of the decline in the population of Bilih Fish which is a unique and unique native fish species in Lake Singkarak. Bilih fish has long been famous for its deliciousness, but now its existence is starting to shrink. Bilih fish as native fish of Lake Singkarak are species and germplasm that need to be preserved because they are endemic and of rare status. The use of a Floating Bag Catching Tool for catching select fish that was initially able to improve the economy of fishermen who are in the circle of Lake Singkarak, but with the many floating operational charts has caused a decline in population and threatened the extinction of Bilih fish (Mystacoleucus padangensis Bleeker). This happens because Bagan uses fishing gear that is not in accordance with the provisions that are allowed, where many of the charts use fishing gear with very tight net material (uk. <5/8 inc), resulting in small sized pickle fish as large as rinuak (2 -3 cm) will be netted by this net. In addition, the use of charts has caused overfishing. The purpose of this study is to learn about how effective the prohibition of the use of charts to prevent population decline and the extinction of the Bilih fish (Mystacoleucus padangensis Bleeker) in the waters of Lake Singkarak. The implementation of the zoning system in an effort to prevent population decline and extinction of bilih fish in the Lake Singkarak waters area and the application of local wisdom by all Nagari who are in the Singkarak lake circle is expected to be able to change people's views in preventing population decline and the extinction of bilih fish in Singkarak lake.
