WATERFRONT SEBAGAI AREA WISATA TEPI AIR DI KAWASAN PASA GADANG JL. PULAU AIR, PADANG SELATAN, KOTA PADANG

Abstrak

Padang City is an area located on the coast of West Sumatra and is also the capital of the province of West Sumatra and is bordered by the Indian Ocean. Padang is the core city of the development of the Palapa metropolitan area. The history of Padang City is inseparable from its role as the Minangkabau Overseas Area, which began as a fishing village near Batang Arau and then developed into a bustling harbor after the Dutch entry. At present, the infrastructure of the city of Padang has been equipped with Minangkabau International Airport, and also a railroad that is connected with other cities in West Sumatra. Waterfront City is a concept that is used close to the waterfront area, can be the beach, river or lake. Waterfront City / Development can be called a development process that has a visual and physical relationship with water and becomes the development of an urban area that is physically close to water where development faces the city that leads to the water's edge. The method of writing this article is a descriptive method, which is a method that explains about describing the situation around the location of observation by means of, conducting surveys, taking documentation, and conducting interviews / giving questionnaires. The results of this study are the planning of waterfront areas can be a cornerstone of the concept of planning for tourists touring the desired tourist areas. This tourist area can provide attractions and characteristics for tourists.
