Abstrak

City of Pariaman has an area with considerable land and sea resource potential where the coastal area in the City of Pariaman is located in the Districts of North Pariaman, Central Pariaman and South Pariaman with a coastline of 12.73 km. In addition there are also 4 (four) small islands, Ujung Island, Tangah Island, Angso Island and Kasiak Island around which there are coral reef ecosystems. Lately the coral reefs in the City of Pariaman have been degraded due to many factors, one of the factors is the amount of pressure from humans both in terms of tourism which has begun to lead to marine tourism and also by fishermen who still lack understanding about saving coral reefs. In an effort to overcome these problems, especially in order to restore the function and role of coral reef ecosystems as marine biota habitats, it is necessary to take real action to preserve coral ecosystems through efforts to rehabilitate damaged coral resources. For this reason, an appropriate management strategy is needed to rehabilitate the coral reef ecosystem in Pariaman City. Strengthening community groups spearheading the rehabilitation and supervision of coral reef ecosystems in the City of Pariaman.
