Abstract

 
The study is motivated lack of student motivation in learning social studies. Factors that lead to low student motivation because, in the learning process of students just sat, silent, listening, asking lazy and do not want to answer the question. The purpose of the study to increase the motivation to learn social studies fourth grade students with strategies Rehearsal Practice Pairs. The study was conducted two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings. This research is a form of classroom action research conducted on the 12th of Mai until June 10 2014 From the research that has been conducted in the first cycle is based on the observation sheet student motivation, obtained an average percentage of 22.25% student motivation. Motivation questionnaire based on the percentage of students gained an average of 60.9% of student motivation. And the second cycle based on the observation sheet student motivation, obtained an average percentage of 77% student motivation. Based on student motivation questionnaire obtained an average percentage of 80.25% student motivation. Student learning outcomes based on the test cycle I gained an average of 44.11 and 86.5 in the second cycle test. The final conclusion, learning IPS Rehearsal Practice Pairs strategy can increase the motivation of students of class IV in SD Negeri 06 Dilam Kecamatan Bukit Sundi  Kabupaten Solokin learning social studies. From the research, the researcher suggests that teachers can implement strategies Rehearsal Practice Pairs in learning social studies in accordance with the material being taught and also can use a variety of learning strategies.
