SUMMARY

 

               The low of mathematics learning result of grade VII student of SMP Negeri 1 Batanggasan of Padang Pariaman Regency is caused by several factors that is not commonly used by students to share knowledge with their friends, lack of communication and interaction between students during the learning process, students are less familiar with the character of their friends, lack of cooperation among students Solve mathematical problems. And students are lazy to ask questions, submit opinions, and answer questions asked. If anyone asks questions, only the questions that are in the book and students who ask only high-ability students. To solve the problem, research is done by applying Trading Places strategy on mathematics learning.               The purpose of this study is to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students by using the strategy of Places Places better than the results of learning mathematics students using ordinary learning in students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Batanggasan Padang Pariaman. The population in this research is the students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Batanggasan Padang Pariaman. The hypothesis proposed is the result of learning mathematics of students by using the strategy of Trading Places better than the results of learning mathematics students using ordinary learning in grade VII students SMP Negeri 1 Batanggasan Padang Pariaman.                The type of research used is experiment. The population in the study were the students of class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Batanggasan Padang Pariaman Regency in the academic year 2016/2017 consisting of two classes. Sample in this research is class VII.1 counted 24 people as experiment class and class VII.2 as many as 23 people as control class.                The learning result data was obtained by giving the final test on the two sample classes consisting of 6 items of description. Then the result of student test is analyzed using formula . Obtained 2 = 5,09, And the  value is between . At the test level , then means rejected and H1be accepted.               Thus it can be concluded that the results of learning mathematics students using the strategy of Trading Places better than the results of learning mathematics students using ordinary learning in students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Batanggasan Padang Pariaman.
