Abstract

Abstract

Vitamins are the most important micronutrient in the diet, micronutrient deficiency or excess as having an impact on the physiological response of fish. Vitamin deficiency can lead to weakness in the food processing, stunted growth, reduction of stress resistance, high mortality rates, it is difficult to heal wounds and lower reproductive performance. Adequacy requirement of vitamin broodstock catfish, positively affects on the reproductive performance of fish. In this experiment, the addition of vitamin E in feed mains to determine the effect on the speed of the gonads mature achievement and improve the quality of the parent channel catfish eggs. Culture done in a cement tub measuring 400x200x65 cm, and filled with water as high as 50 cm. Vitamin E given to the different levels, as the treatment is, A (100.67 mg / kg), B (201.34 mg / kg), C (302.01 mg / kg), D (402.68 mg / kg ) with 3 replications. The results showed that the addition of vitamin E in feed mains significantly different (P <0.05) to speed the achievement of mature gonads and highly significant (P <0.01) on hatchability, but do not affect the value of ovi somatic index (IOS) and egg diameter. Where the best results obtained in the treatment of B with a speed of achievement of mature gonads (average 41 days), ovi somatic index (IOS) (an average of 16:03%), egg diameter (mean 0.496 mm) and hatching eggs (mean-average 69.20%). Overall it can be concluded that the best treatment to accelerate the achievement of mature gonads and increase the degree of hatching eggs is the addition of vitamin E as much as 201.34 mg / kg of feed mains.. Water quality throughout the study viable for maintenance of the parent fish catfish.
