KOMPOSISI HASIL TANGKAPAN MENGGUNAKAN TRAMMEL NET SHORTENING 38% DI MUARA BATANG ARAU PADANG PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world. Stretching from Sabang to Merauke, Indonesia has 17,499 islands with a total area of approximately 7.81 million km2. The total area of the area, 3.25 million km2 is the ocean and 2.55 million km2 is the Exclusive Economic Zone. Only about 2.01 million km2 is land. The aim is to study the construction of a trammel net which has a shortening of 38%. To study the composition of catches on trammel net with 38% shortening. The method used is descriptive, which is a method to describe or provide an overview of the object under study through data or samples that have been collected and directly follow the trammel net catching activity. Conclusion The specifications of the trammel net fishing gear in Muara Batang Arau include polyethylene (PE) with a net length of 30 meters per piece, 3.5 mesh size and 38% shortening, 23% outer shortening. Trammel net catch at the Batang Arau Padang estuary, including red shrimp (Peneus Metapenaeus), crabs (Portunidae), Maco (Leiognathus equulus), Mayung fish (Aridae), squid (Mastigoteuthis flammea).
