Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of illegal gold mining in the Batang Hari River on the content of heavy metals in the water and meat of Baung fish. This research was conducted in July 2022. Water and fish sampling was taken at 3 stations, namely A, B, and C with 2 collections 15 days apart. Based on the results of research, the content of Hg, Pb, and Cu in Batang Hari River water has exceeded the water quality standard. The results on Hg, Pb, and Cu meat were above the quality standard. The results of the parameters of temperature, pH, DO are still below the recommended quality standard, while the brightness exceeds the quality standard
