Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of additional feed for maggot caterpillars (Hermetia illucens) on the reproduction of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) including absolute weight growth, somatic gonadal index, fecundity, and egg diameter. Quantitative data were analyzed statistically using the t-test with an error rate of 0.05, while the steps were using the average similarity test, which consisted of 2 treatments and 1 replication using the experimental method. The results showed that feeding 50% maggot caterpillars and 50% commercial pellets (treatment A) and giving 100% commercial pellets (treatment B). were the results on weight growth obtained weight growth of 7.31 grams (treatment A), and 5.38 grams (treatment B), somatic gonadal index with an average of 2.66% (treatment A) and 0.02027% (treatment B) ), the average fecundity was 4238 eggs (treatment A) and 3179 eggs (treatment B), the average egg diameter was 0.142 cm (treatment A) and 0.125 cm (treatment B).
