Abstract

Garbage is a common problem until now faced by all countries, including Indonesia. As a developing country, the waste problem is a matter that must receive more attention, along with the increasing population growth rate. The amount of waste in Indonesia reached 65.2 million tons in 2016 and will continue to grow every year. The increase in the amount of waste can be caused by growth, industrial development, urbanization, and modernization. The purpose of this study is to identify the amount and type of marine debris (Marine Debris) at Purus Beach and Pasir Jambak Beach and to identify the behavior of the community around the coastal tourism area of Padang City regarding Marine Debris.
