Abstract

Bilih fish spawn by swimming against the current of the river that empties into the lake, with current speeds between 0.3 and 0.6 meters per second, and river depths ranging from 10 to 20 centimeters, and water temperatures ranging from 24.0 to 26. 0 degrees Celsius. An important aspect for preserving bilih fish populations is reproduction, which is a basic aspect of fish biology. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of egg stocking density on fertilization percentage, egg hatching rate, and larval survival. This research was carried out using an experimental method using a randomized block design (RBD) with four treatments and three replications, namely: Treatment A: 100 eggs + 0.2 ml of sperm per 2 liters of water. Treatment B: 300 eggs + 0.6 ml of sperm per 2 liters of water. Treatment C: 500 eggs + 1 ml sperm per 2 liters of water. Treatment D: 700 eggs + 1.4 ml sperm per 2 liters of water. Different egg densities (100, 300, 500, and 700 eggs per 2 liters of water) have an effect on the percentage of egg fertilization and hatching rate. The results showed that the best egg stocking density was in treatment C (500 eggs per 2 liters of water) with an egg fertilization rate of 98.40% and an egg hatching rate of 94.87%. In addition, the stocking density of the larvae (36, 117, 297, and 409 per 2 liters of water) also affected the survival rate of the larvae up to 30 days of age.
