Abstract

This study was conducted from July to 31 November 2012 in UPTD Fish Seed Installation Sijunjung . Aims to determine the effective time of immersion in the hormone 17 @ - methyltestosteron the success rate sex reversal Oreochromis niloticus fish . The method in this study is an experiment with 4 treatments 3 replications . Treatment in this study was soaking seeds Oreochromis niloticus fish 200 fish / container , aged 14 days with a dose of the hormone - methyltestosteron 17 @ 60 mg / L , with different soaking time that treatment A ( soaking for 5 days ) , treatment B ( immersion during 7 days ) , treatment C ( submersion for up to 9 days ) , and treatment D ( submersion for up to 11 days ) . Statistical test results showed that soaking seeds Oreochromis niloticus fish with different immersion time in the solution of the hormone 17 - @ methyltestosteron significantly different ( P > 0.05 . ) The success rate sex reversal Oreochromis niloticus fish . The rate of survival was highest in treatment B and C with an average ( 66 % ) . The highest percentage of success sex reversal found in treatment C with an average of ( 89.94 % )
