Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of honey bees to efforts to increase the percentage of male seed Betta fish ( Betta splendens , Blkr ) . Betta fish larvae aged 4 days maintained for 30 days with a stocking density 20 fish / liter and larvae reared in media with honey with 4 treatments 3 replications , ie treatment A : Maintenance of honey bee larvae without ( control ) , treatment B : Maintenance larvae using honey bee 20 ml / liter of water , treatment C : Maintenance of honey bee larvae using 30 ml / liter of water , treatment D : Maintenance of honey bee larvae using 40 ml / liter of water . Every day observed on mortality and measured every 10 days long growth and final selection of research conducted males . Based on the analysis of variance on the survival of larvae showed that the value of the hit F > F tab , which means survival between treatments gave significantly different results . The highest survival on treatment A 73.3 % and 41.6 % the lowest D treatment . Percentage of males Betta fish between 54.4 % - 64.5 % which was not significantly different between treatments , the highest percentage in the D treatment using bee honey 40 ml / liter . The use of honey bees also no significant effect terhada absolute growth in length and weight of fish larvae growth Hickey .
