Abstract

Baringin Island is one of the turtle landing sites, which has an area of 8.45 ha ±
there are two types of vegetation ie trees and grass vegetation. Vegetation is dominated
by coconut trees (Cocos nucifera), a tree hibiscus (Habiscus tilliaceus), and coastal
forest vegetation dominated by grasses jog (Spirifex littoeus) and other grass species.
From the research found 2 (two) tailed Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas), with an average
carapace length, 95 cm, and an average width of carapace; 74 cm, which takes a ride to
the beach from the spawn, spawn and go down to the sea with a total time; 156 minutes
(2 hours 36 minutes). The physical condition of the place Baringin Island Green Turtle
(Chelonia mydas) nesting beach has an average slope; 5,950, the tide; 95-120 cm, which
occurred at 22:00, the Tide; 0-20 cm, which occurred at 14:00 , salinity levels ranging
from; 29-34 0/00, the water temperature ranges; 28-300C, and the temperature ranges
between; 29-310C. Green turtle (Chelonia mydas) choose to ride on the third station
(south) and IV Station (east) with average - average slope of the beach; 5590, with its
fine sand category.
