Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of vitamin E in the diet to increase the reproductive potential of fish holding pearl Sepat (Trichogaster leeri). This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment A (134.22 mg vitamin E / kg of feed), treatment B (201.33 mg vitamin E / kg of feed), treatment C (268.44 mg vitamin E / kg of feed), D (vitamin E 335.55 mg / kg of feed). The fish samples used are pearl Snakeskin female parent fish as much as 12 heads and 12 tails male parent. Parent fish maintained separately in a tub of fiber size 180x72x50 5 units, 4 units for maintenance treatment and the appropriate parent females 1 male parental unit for maintenance and for spawning using an aquarium measuring 60x60x60 cm by 12 units. Feeding three times a day adlibitum. The results showed that vitamin E enrichment feed using 134.22 mg / kg feed gives significant effect on the speed of achieving a mature gonads (38.67 days) and fecundity of fish Sepat mother of pearl (2635.66 points). As for the diameter of the eggs showed the best results in the treatment of C (0.306 mm) and for hatching the best in show on treatment B (99.12%).
