Abstract

This study was conducted in Mai 2015 in West Sumatra lake Batur. To assess various types of eye size nets (mesh size) gillnet used in fishing Bilih, examines the long and the average weight of fish caught Bilih with different mesh size (mesh size) gillnet, and analyze the length and the average weight of fish Bilih caught with a variety of sizes (mesh size) gillnet. The design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD). This research data retrieval  using  three  treatments  in  four  groups  Kenagarian  namely:  Nagari  Nagari  Batu Guguak Malalo and Taba (District of South Batipuah Tanah Datar) and Nagari Nagari Muaro Paninggahan and Muaro Pingai (uphold Sirih subdistrict Solok district). In each group performed four repetitions. From the results of the study found type of fishing gear is Langli / gill nets (gillnets), Jala, Alahan, Chart, and Arrow. Gillnet fishing gear used in the lake Batur is fishing gear gillnet mesh size 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch and 1 inch. Bilih number of fish caught by gillnet mesh size of 200 grams of 5/8 inch in one fishing operations with an average length of 6.680 and an average weight of 2.652, the amount of fish caught Bilih with 3/4 inch gillnet mesh size of 250 g in a single operation catching up with the average length of 7.594 and an average weight of 4.112, while the number of fish caught with gillnets Bilih 1 inch by 70 grams in one fishing operations with an average length of 9,460 and an average weight of

8,200.
