Abstract

This research was carried out on September to November 2015 in Laboratorium Terpadu Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Bung Hatta, Padang. The purpose of this research is to know the use of zeolite and bricks as a filter on breeding media of seed Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) towards survival and growth. The method that used in this study is an experiment with a direct descent of spaciousness. The research design used was Complete Random Design with 3 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments is treatment A = 2 kg zeolite/chamfer/Aquarium. Treatment B = 2 kg of bricks/chamfer/Aquarium. Treatment of C = 1 kgzeolite +1 kg bricks/chamfer/Aquarium.Seeds used is the seed Tilapia from 45 days with long an average of 5 - 8 cm and average weight 3 - 4 gr as much as 300 tail, there is 25 seed per aquarium. The Aquarium measuring 40 x 35 x 30 cm with a water volume 28 litres. Above the Aquarium filter gutter installation was installed as the place of location of the filter that will be used, and the pump is mounted inside the aquarium as a tool to drain water to the gutter installation the filter continuously. Results of the study showed that the use of Zeoilt 1 kg+1 kg of bricks on media maintenance fish Tilapia against the survival and growth of different real influence (P & lt 0.05;).Tilapia fish seed survival in treatment A and C is (100%) while treatment B (95%). The growth of the absolute highest weight carried in the treatment C (9.94 gr), and the highest absolute length growth found in treatment C (53.19 mm).Water quality values obtained during research is pH 7, DO 5.35 – 6.7 ppm, temperature 27.6 – 28.6 0C, NO3 0.28 – 1,86 mg/L, NO2 0.052 – 0.175 mg/L, NH3 0.30 – 0.60 mg/L and CO2 12.36 – 29.21 mg/L.
