STUDI LOKASI PENDARATAN PENYU YANG BERTELUR DAN PEMETAANNYA DI PULAU PENYU KABUPATEN PESISIR SELATAN

Penyu laut merupakan salah satu satwa yang memiliki peranan penting bagi kehidupan masyarakat pesisir. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji lokasi pendaratan penyu di Pulau Penyu, KKPD Kabupatan Pesisir Selatan, Sumatera Barat dan mengaplikasikannya ke dalam bentuk peta. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli - Oktober 2015. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada dua (2) lokasi. Lokasi I bagian Utara dan Lokasi II bagian Timur Pulau Penyu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif. Data yang diamati ; lebar pantai, kemiringan pantai, pasang surut, suhu air dan suhu udara, salinitas, pola jejak sarang dan pemetaan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa lokasi pendaratan penyu terdapat di sebelah Utara pulau pada titik koordinat; 1°29'54.06"LS-100°26'19.02"BT dan 1°29'54.01"LS-100°26'18.03"BT. Analisis pemetaan dengan software ArcGIS 10.1, didapati luas Pulau Penyu ; 18.01 ha, luas lokasi pendaratan penyu di sebelah Utara pulau ; 0.75 ha, luas kawasan berpasir ; 2.65 ha, dan luas tutupan vegetasi pulau ; 15.68 ha.

ABSTRACT

Sea turtle is one of animals that has important role for people who live near the beach. This research is aimed to examine the location of turtle’s landing in Pulau Penyu, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatera and to aplly it into a map. This research is done on July-October 2015. The data collection is done in two (2) locations. Location I in northern and location II eastern of Pulau Penyu. The research method that is used is descriptive, datas which are collected ; widht of the beach, declivity of the beach, tidal, temperature of the water and the air, salinity, the distance of nest track and mapping. The result that the location of turtle’s landed on the northern of the Pulau Penyu, at coordinates ; 1°29'54.06"S - 100°26'19.02"E and ; 1°29'54.01"S - 100°26'18.03"E. Mapping analysis using software ArcGIS 10.1, the results of extensive mapping of island wide ; 18.01 ha, turtle landing on northern ; 0.75 ha, 2.65 ha of sandy area, and 15.68 ha of vegetation cover.
