Abstract

This study aims to examine and prove the effect of ethical leadership on deviant behavior in the workplace with the mediating variables of ethical climate, moral disengagement and organizational commitment. The population in this study were 105 employees at the Tanjung Harapan District Office. The type of data used is primary data. Data collection method is by distributing questionnaires. The analytical tool used in this research is the smart-PLS software. The results showed that ethical leadership variables had no effect on deviant behavior, ethical leadership had a positive effect on ethical climate, ethical leadership had no positive effect on moral disengagement, ethical leadership had a positive effect on organizational commitment, ethical climate had a negative effect on deviant behavior in the workplace, moral disengagement has no effect on deviant behavior, organizational commitment has no effect on deviant behavior in the workplace, ethical climate and organizational commitment are proven to mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and deviant behavior in the workplace, while moral disengagement does not mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and deviant behavior in the workplace Keyword : Ethical Leadership, Ethical Climate, Moral Disengagement, Organizational Commitment and Deviant Behavior in the Workplace.
