PERANAN UNIT PERLINDUNGAN PEREMPUAN DAN ANAK KEPOLISIAN RESOR KOTA PADANG DALAM MEMBERIKAN PERLINDUNGAN HUKUM TERHADAP PEREMPUAN KORBAN KEKERASAN DALAM RUMAH TANGGA

Abstract

Over the past three years, there has been an increase in violence against women and children in Padang City, West Sumatra. 12 cases in 2020, 14 cases in 2021, 18 cases in 2022. The formulation of the problem in this study: (1) How is the role of the Women and Children Protection Unit in handling criminal acts of violence against women and children in the jurisdiction of the Padang City Resort Police? (2) What obstacles are faced by the Padang City Resort Police in overcoming the prosecution of perpetrators of criminal acts of violence against women and children in the jurisdiction of the Padang City Resort Police? The research method uses juridical sociology, with an interdisciplinary approach. The role of the Padang Police PPA Unit in criminal acts of domestic violence in Padang City is by conducting two ways, namely penal mediation and through legal channels. The obstacles encountered by the Padang Police PPA Unit are obstacles in penal mediation.
