PERAN KEPOLISIAN DALAM MELINDUNGI CUSTOMER DARI TINDAK PIDANA PENIPUAN DALAM JUAL BELI SECARA ONLINE (STUDI KASUS POLDA SUMATERA BARAT)

Abstract

Online buying and selling fraud is a crime whose means of action are using electronic systems via the internet and telecommunication devices. As regulated in Article 28 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 45a (1) of the ITE Law. The role of the police in providing protection is carried out by preventing and conducting investigations into case reports from the public. Problem Formulation: 1) What are the efforts of the police in protecting customers from criminal acts of online buying and selling fraud at the West Sumatra Regional Police?: 2) What are the inhibiting factors for the Police in protecting customers from online buying and selling fraud at the West Sumatra Regional Police? Types of sociological juridical research; source of data used in this research is primary data. Data collection techniques, namely interviews and document studies; data analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study: 1) the efforts of the police in providing protection to customers are providing counseling and outreach to the public about the modes and characteristics of fraudulent buying and selling online2) the inhibiting factor for the police in providing protection is that the public easily believes and is tempted to buy and sell online.
