Abstract

The spread of HIV/AIDS in Indonesia is increasing rapidly, creating serious challenges in health development. Formulation of the problem: 1). How is the legal protection for the privacy rights of HIV patients at H. Hanafie Hospital, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province? 2). What are the legal remedies for violations of the privacy rights of HIV patients at H. Hanafie Hospital, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province? The type of research carried out is sociological juridical. The data used is primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques using document studies and interviews. The collected data was analyzed using qualitative analysis. Research Results: 1) The patient's right to privacy is not fully protected, obstacles include the ineffective implementation of the Ethics and Legal Committee policies and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. 2) Efforts will be made to make the role of the Ethics and Legal Committee and the Medical Committee more effective and to provide administrative sanctions or legal proceedings for any violation of patient privacy rights.
