SADNESS IN TWO LYRICS OF AAA THE BEST 10TH ANNIVERSARY ALBUM: THE ESSENCE OF POETRY

Abstract

This study analyzes the sadness in two lyrics of AAA The Best 10th Anniversary album,

Boku no Yuutsu to Fukigenna Kanojo and Aishiteru no ni Aisenai, because both lyrics has

the same story that is sadly abandoned by his lover. This is a qualitative research, using

descriptive method with data collection method techniques using literature study. To analyze

the sadness in both lyrics of the song, the author using theory the essence of poetry; sense,

feelings, tones, and intention. The final step reveals sadness from the denotation and

connotation meaning of both lyrics.

The conclusion of this study, Boku no Yuutsu to Fukigenna Kanojo lyric has five sadness

denotation data of distress that is feeling insecure in the heart. Speaker split with his lover

because the woman has turned another man, but he always hoped together with his lover.

Aishiteru no ni Aisenai lyric has one sadness denotation data which is sad feeling of cry and

five sadness connotation data of distress that is feeling insecure in the heart. Speaker also

split with his lover because of his mistake that happened in the past. Although speaker still

loves his lover he can’t together with his lover.
