PERAYAAN OBON MATSURI PADA MASYARAKAT JEPANG DEWASA INI

Abstract

In this thesis the author examines the celebration of obon matsuri in Japanese society
today. The reason the author took this title because the author wants to know how the
celebration of obsessed matsuri today in Japan. At first the ceremony was only performed in
the temple environment, but then, as the times of the Japanese population began to follow
obon ritual. This obon ritual begins in the temples, then done in the field or train station. In
the present day anyone and from anywhere can follow. This study aims to describe the
celebration of obon matsuri in Japan. The method I use is descriptive method. To analyze the
data the author uses cultural theory. From the results of research that the authors found
obsession matsuri in the beginning is a ritual activity in the form of offerings to offer to the
ancestors or families who have died. Obon was first performed in Japan in 567, The third
year bertatanya emperor saimei. Obon not only plays a role of devotion and respect for family
members who have died, But also has been transformed into a means of gathering family
members who have been living separately and a chance to gather together to strengthen the
existing brotherhood. And can strengthen the ties and strengthen social relationships among
residents around the Japanese community residence. In addition, obon is also a tourist
destination in Japan. Many travel packages in Japan include the obon festival as one of their
holiday facilities. Nevertheless, the element of religious ritual on obsessed matsuri remains
