Abstract

The object of this study is to analyze about popular Japanese food nowadays, which is ramen.
The reason the author took this title because the author wants to know how the history and
development of ramen so that became popular food in Japan today. At first ramen is a Chinese
food, but a creative and innovative Japanese, able to process food made from noodles into a new
menu that is more delicious and enthused many people. Ramen that used to have only a few
variations, namely shio, shoyu and miso. In every area of Japan has its own distinctive ramen
variations, so now ramen becomes has a lot of menu variations, even every day able to bring up
new menus. This study aims to describe the popularity of ramen in Japan. The method that auther
use is descriptive method. To analyze the data the author uses popular theory. From the research
that the authors found, Japanese ramen is now becoming more popular because it has several
factors, such as the cheap price, is a healthy menu in a bowl of ramen, the menu is varied, the
ramen shop is easy to find in Japan, as well as the creation of ramen in the form of a cup that is
more practical .
