OPTIMISTIC MEANING OF TWO LYRICAL SONG BY ONE OK ROCK IN NICHE SYNDROME ALBUM: IMAGERY

Abstract

In this thesis the author discusses the optimistic meaning of the two song lyrics by One
Ok Rock in the album Niche Syndrome: 完全感覚 Dreamer (Kanzenkankaku Dreamer) and Yes
I am. The reason to analyze the meaning of optimistic because it relates to the condition of One
Ok Rock suffered a setback then optimistic to achieve their group's success. This research is a
qualitative research using descriptive method. The research begins with analyzing the imagery
on auditive imagery, visual imagery, and tactile imagery. Lastly the author expresses the
optimistic meaning contained in the two song lyrics. The optimistic meaning is derived from
combining the denotation meaning and connotation meaning. The results reveal the two song
lyrics have the optimistic meaning which is faith and hope. 完全感覚 Dreamer has optimistic
meaning in reaching his dream for success. Yes I am has optimistic meaning to change his life for
the better.
