The Effect of the Character of the Yotsuya Leader on Handling Patients in the Tiisu Shinderera Novel by Tsukasa Sakaki
Abstract
The Japanese novel, Shinderera Tiisu (Cinderella Teeth) by Sakaki Tsukasa, tells ofone of the characters, namely Yotsuya Kengo who works as a dental technician (dental
technique) in handling patients who come to the dental clinic where he works. Different
treatment methods for each patient make the writer interested in examining "The Effect of
Yotsuya Character on Patient Management".
The theory used is the character painting technique, namely expository techniques and
dramatic techniques. Expository techniques are also called analytical techniques, the
portrayal of the character of the story is done by giving descriptive, descriptive, or direct
explanations. The characters present and presented by the author, in front of the reader in a
convoluted way, but just like that and immediately accompanied by a description of his self,
which may be in the form of attitude, character, behavior, or even physical characteristics.
The ekpository technique used is character. Dramatic techniques used include (1)
conversation techniques, (2) behavioral techniques (3) mind and feeling techniques (4) figure
reaction techniques (5) other characters' reaction techniques.
This study is a qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data collection technique
used is the library research technique. To analyze the data there are several steps, namely (1)
reading and understanding Shinderera Tiisu novels with the aim of obtaining a clear
understanding of the contents of the novel under study, (2) conducting library studies related
to research problems, (3) grouping data on character the figure of Yotsuya Kengo (4)
analyzed the character data of the characters grouped according to the theory of figure
painting techniques, (5) grouped data on patient care then analyzed and correlated with the
character of Yotsuya's figure, (6) concluded the results of the study.
The results showed Yotsuya's patient handling through medical records, digital camera
photos, giving advice, doing acting, participating in operations, and monitoring patients.
Yotsuya's character that influences the handling of patients is thorough, intelligent and smart.
For a dental technician, having a meticulous, intelligent and smart character supports the
handling of patients and prioritizes patient comfort when doing dental treatment.
