Language Style in the Meaning of Kanyouku Suuji

Abstract

Kanyouku is the result of a merger of two or more words that are connected and can not be described, which as a whole has a different meaning. Meaning derived from these words is useful for ensuring that the sentence in order to produce a good and correct sentences. Therefore, this study aims to describe the style of language contained in the meaning of kanyouku suuji and classify
kanyouku based on the types of meanings on kanyouku suuji.
Kanyouku are two more words which, after being combined, have a certain meaning (Nobura Oyanagi, 1997: 17). Kanyouku is widely used in our daily conversation and sentences. Usually these are short words, but when used at the right time and place, will be sentences and conversations that live and enrich the sentence (Inoue Muneo, 1992: i). This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this study were obtained from Reikai Kanyouku Jiten along with the internet. Data analysis technique is done by grouping data, analyzing data, then concluding the data. In presenting the results of data analysis, the method used is informal method. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there are two linguistic styles in the meaning of kanyouku suuji, including six kanyouku suuji data included in the metaphorical style (inyu) and nine kanyouku suuji data included in the style of the metomini language (kanyu). Then two data of kanyouku suuji that express feelings and senses, two data that state the state of the body, nature or character and behavior or attitude, six data that state actions, actions or activities, three data that state the state, degree and value and two data that expressing society, culture and life.
