Friendship in Tomodachi and Best Friends Forever’s lyrics by Nishino Kana : The Imagery
Abstract
In this study analyzed friendship in two lyrics by Nishino Kana, that isTomodachi and Best Friends Forever. This song are selected from four lyrics that
tell about friendship. The purpose of this study is to reveal friendship in this two
lyrics through imagery. After classify the data of auditive imagery, visual imagery,
tactile imagery, author analyzes the connotation meaning of friendships from each
lyrics.
The theory used in this study is the imagery. Judgement can be limited by
understanding words or wording that can express sensory experiences and feelings.
The line or verse of the poem seems to sound contain and echoes listening (auditive
imagery), the object that visible and moving (visual imagery), or perceived,touch,
and taste (tactile imagery) (Waluyo, 1987).
This study is qualitative research using descriptive method.The object of this
study is the lyrics of Tomodachi and Best Friends Forever by Nishino Kana. Data
collection carried out in a way (1) downloading and translating the lyrics, (2)
classify the data of imagery,(3) analyze the data of imagery (4) classify the
connotation meaning data from imagery data, (5) analyze the connotation meaning
of friendship, (6) make a conclusion.
The resulst of this study show that friendship from this two lyrics is spending
time together: interaction and give an emosional support that was found from
connotasion of three imagery. Tomodachi lyric have a connotation meaning from
auditive imagery (1 data), visual imagery (5 data), and tactile imagery (4 data).
Domination meaning of Friendship in Tomodachi lyric are interaction and
emosional support that found from three imagery connotation, especially from
visual imagery (the object that visible and moving). Best Friends Forever lyric have
a connotation meaning from auditive imagery (1 data), visual imagery (2 data),
and tactile imagery (4 data). Domination meaning of Friendship in Best Friends
Forever lyric are also interaction and emosional support that found from three
imagery connotation, especially from tactile imagery (touch and taste). As a
conclusion the friendship in Tomodachi and Best Friends Forever are dominated
by interaction and emosional support that found through visual imagery and tactile
imagery.
