KONJUNGSI SUBORDINATIF BAHASA MINANGKABAU DI KAMBANG KABUPATEN PESISIR SELATAN

Abstract

Subordinate conjunction is conjunction that connect equal parts, connect one clause to
others clause in sentence. This reserch have purpose to describe form and meaning of
subordinate conjunction in Minangkabau Language at Kambang Regency Pesisir Selatan.
In analysing form and meaning of subordinate conjunction the writer used Alwi and
Chaer theory. Method that used to collectiing data is observation method and elicitation
technique. Next, to analyse data the writer used substitution technique and deletion technique.
Subordinate conjunction that found in Minangkabau Language at Kambang Regency
Pesisir Selatan are in form of monomorphemic and polymorphemic, meanwhile meaning of
subordinate conjunction are (1) time subordinate conjunction are: sajak ‘sejak’, samanjak
‘semenjak’, wakatu ‘waktu’, katiko ‘ketika’, samantaro ‘sementara’, baitu ‘begitu’, salamo
‘selama’, sasudah ‘sesudah’, sabalun ‘sebelum’, salasai ‘selesai’, dan sampai ‘sampai’; (2)
konjungsi subordinatif syarat, yaitu kalau ‘kalau’, dan asakan ‘asalkan’. (3) requirement
subordinate conjunction are: saandainyo ‘seandainya’, dan umpamonyo ‘umpamanya’; (4)
purpose subordinate conjunction are: supayo ‘supaya’, dan bia ‘biar’; (5) subordinate
conjunction concesive are: walaupun ‘walaupun’, dan sunguahpun ‘sungguhpun’; (6)
comparison subordinate conjunction are: cando ‘seperti’, ibarek ‘ibarat’, dan dagipado
‘daripada’; (7) cause subordinate conjunction is dek ‘karena’; dan (8) result subordinate
conjunction is sahinggo ‘sehingga’.
