ANALISIS SEMIOTIK POSTER LINGKUNGAN

Abstract

This mini thesis was conducted to determine the description of the marker
(signifier) and the signified, and the meaning which is contained in the
environmental poster. In this study the author is using descriptive method. The
theory which is used in this study is the theory of the signifier and signified by
Saussure, then used by Roland Barthes, and the division of the signs.
Based on the result of the study, the signifier on the environmental poster
consists of all the texts and images on the ad. Whereas signified is formed from
environmental poster which is made to influence the poster readers for preserving
the earth. Denotation meaning on an environmental poster is same as the signified
which is found on the poster. Meanwhile the connotation meanings are a very
diverse environment, the determination of the meaning or interpretation depends
on knowledge, experiences, background, and even the emotions of the reader.
