STRATEGI TINDAK TUTUR BERTERIMA KASIH OLEH PARA TOKOH DALAM DRAMA JEPANG “HAMMER SESSION”

Abstract

In this study the author analyzes the speech act strategy of thanking by the characters in
the drama Japan Hammer Session as a source of research data. The method used in this
research is descriptive method and theories that I use to analyze the data in this study is
the theory Aijmer in Rizky Putri in classifying speech act strategy of thanking and also
connecting links with the theory of the relationship of Roger Brown and Albert Giman
and Scollon in the Milky Anggreni. Based on the results of the study, the authors classify
strategy speech act of thanking into five situations, the first high power situations and
solidarity are not familiar, the second low power situation and solidarity familiar, the
third high power situations and solidarity familiar, the fourth low power situations and
solidarity are not familiar, the fifth same power and solidarity situation familiar. From
the results of research that the author found in the drama Japan strategy hammer
session thanking expression most used by the characters is strategy thanks to someone
explicitly or thanking somebody explicity which is the most direct speech. This strategy
is usually used by people who have a lower power to have higher power and also has a
close relationship between speakers and the hearer when doing the thanking expression.
It also depends on the situation at the time of speech is thanking.
