Abstract

This writer analysis the emotion of the character in the novel Ryoujuu by Yasushi Inoue. The analysis focuses on two goals there are to describe characterization of the character and to describe classification the emotion of the character. In this analysis the writer applied characterization of fiction and psychoanalysis theory. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The characterization of fiction consist of two part, the direct method (telling) and indirect method (showing). The result showed that the three character Shoko, Midori, and Saiko have the same emotion classification. There were emotion of guild, self punshing, grief, and love. Then, classification of emotion ill-difined guil feelings just owned by Midori and Saiko. Classification of emotion shame and hate just owned by Midori.
