Abstract

This research aimed to describe the conflict of main character Masakado in Taira no Masakado by Eiji Yoshikawa. This conflict occurs because crash in his family to fighting wealth and power. To analyze the conflict, the writer uses structuralism approach, related to character, setting, plot and conflict. The method used, is descriptive method. Descriptive method is method has a excerpts of colleting the data to gave illustration. The result of research, concluded about Masakado character, internal and external conflict. The internal conflict is anger, revenge, disappointed, regret and sadness related to problems and expectations. The internal conflict influenced the external conflict appear. The external conflict is civil war whit his uncles, cousins, and son’s of Klan Mamoru. This conflict ended with the dead of Masakado character.
